Getting a branch live

Bringing a branch live follows a fixed order. Each step depends on the one before it, so doing them out of sequence is the usual reason something does not work.

1. Create the branch

An owner or super admin creates the branch: name, code, address and contact. The branch code appears on bills, so pick something short and recognisable.

2. Set up the menu

Categories first, then items, then prices. Prices can be set per branch where one outlet charges differently.

If you are tracking stock, add ingredients and link them to items with recipes — this is what makes stock reduce automatically when you sell.

3. Add people

Create logins for the manager and cashiers. Give each person their own account rather than sharing one; reports attribute activity to whoever was signed in.

4. Install the till

Install the desktop application on the branch PC and sign in once. This registers the branch credential that the Local Hub uses.

5. Connect printers

Add the receipt printer and any kitchen printers, then map categories to kitchen stations so orders print where they are cooked. Print a test receipt and a test kitchen ticket before going further.

6. Pair phones

If cashiers or managers use phones in the outlet, pair them with the branch Hub so they keep working during an internet outage.

7. Smoke test

Before real service, run one bill end to end: take an order, send it to the kitchen, check the kitchen ticket printed, take payment, check the receipt, then open and close a shift and confirm the cash reconciles.

8. Go live

Open a shift and start trading.
